Content Policy
Crave is a field guide written by diners who actually ate the food. Honest, specific, first-hand. This policy describes what belongs here and what does not.
01What's allowed
- First-hand delivery and dine-in reviews — dishes you actually ordered or ate.
- Specific, evidence-based delivery factors — arrival temp, packaging, platform, ordered-for-the-team.
- Photos of food you took yourself with rights to share.
- Honest tag descriptions and head-to-head comparisons of dishes you've tried.
- Constructive feedback about a delivery experience or a specific dish.
02What's not allowed
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeted attacks on any individual or group.
- Fake, paid, coordinated, or AI-fabricated reviews — including reviews by anyone affiliated with the restaurant.
- Spam, off-topic posts, or advertisements for unrelated products or services.
- Impersonation of another person, restaurant, or brand.
- Sexually explicit content, gore, or graphic violence.
- Illegal content, including content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
- Personal information about others (employees, other diners) without their consent.
- Content unrelated to a specific dish or restaurant in a city Crave covers.
If you're not sure
Ask yourself: "If I were a colleague reading this in a hotel room at 11pm, would it help me decide what to order?" If the answer is no, it probably doesn't belong here.
03How to report
You have two routes to flag content that violates this policy:
- In the Crave app: open the dish detail page, tap the overflow menu (
⋯) in the top-right, and choose Report dish. A pre-filled email opens.
- By email: write to
moderation@crave.app with the dish name (and ID if you have it) and a short description of the issue.
We review every report within 24 hours.
04Enforcement
We apply a graduated response. Severe violations (illegal content, threats, sexual content involving minors) skip directly to suspension and, when required, referral to authorities.
01 · WARNING
In-app warning and content correction
For minor or first-time violations: we contact you and ask for the content to be edited or removed.
02 · REMOVAL
Content removal
We remove the offending dish, photo, or review and notify you with the reason. Underlying ELO comparisons may be retained as an immutable audit log but the surfaced content is taken down.
03 · SUSPENSION
Account suspension or termination
For repeated, severe, or willful violations: we suspend or terminate the account. Sign in with Apple credentials are not portable, so this is a final remedy.
05Appeals
If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error, reply to the enforcement email or write to moderation@crave.app within 30 days. Include the dish ID or account ID, the action taken, and why you believe it was incorrect. We review every appeal within 5 business days and respond in writing.
06Changes
We may update this Content Policy as new patterns of abuse appear or as the product expands. Material changes will be announced through the app or by other reasonable means. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates the current version.
